Talkeetna Historical Society – School House Building
Schoolhouse Constructed 1936 for the Department of Education Territory of Alaska, operated as a school until early 1972. It was converted into a museum in 1974.
This building displays Talkeetna’s history, native artifacts, information on the original businesses – Nagley’s store and Talkeetna Trading Post, origins of the territorial schoolhouse, a nod to famous pilots Don Sheldon as well as Cliff Hudson and the Talkeetna Village Airstrip.
